I enjoyed reading James Patterson’s Alex Cross series
A TV series adaptation of James Patterson’s novels about the complicated and brilliant detective Alex Cross. Hodge is the third actor to portray Cross, following Morgan Freeman, who first played him on screen in 1997’s Kiss the Girls and again in the 2001 sequel Along Came a Spider; and Tyler Perry as the title character in the 2012 film Alex Cross, which bombed at the box office and led Lionsgate to cancel a previously planned sequel, Double Cross.
Aldis Hodge is the perfect Alex Cross
As a fan of the character, when I heard that the books were being turned into a TV series, I was worried that all the things I loved about the books and the characters would be ruined, as is usually the case with most film/TV series adaptations. I have to say that my concerns were unfounded.
This duality is crucial to an authentic portrayal of Cross
Hodge has the commanding physical presence that is essential for a character who is often portrayed as a brilliant thinker and a man who can withstand physical confrontations. His performance reflects a deep understanding of James Patterson’s novels.
His performance is likely to appeal to longtime fans of the character and newcomers alike
He captures the essence of Cross’ character as a brilliant detective driven by a strong sense of justice. Overall, Hodge’s portrayal of Alex Cross combines skilled acting with a strong emotional core, making him an excellent choice for the role on the series.
Cross captures the essence of James Patterson’s novels with gripping storytelling, character depth, and a gripping plot that will appeal to longtime fans and new viewers alike
