Decades after their 1984 All Valley Karate Tournament clash, a middle-aged Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence find themselves once again as martial arts rivals. During the filming of the original Karate Kid, the late director John G. The team behind Cobra Kai scoured the studio and found a wealth of never-before-seen clips that they were able to incorporate into the series through flashbacks. One of them features Zabka’s real-life mom standing in the stands from various angles, which wasn’t seen until 2018. Ralph Macchio told Uproxx that there are three brand-new angles of the famous crane kick.
Many people believe that Miyagi’s name on his tombstone is a continuity error, as in Karate Kid 4 (1994), his name was Keisuke, but it was actually on a plaque earlier. This means that The Next Karate Kid changed his name, while Cobra Kai kept the name he was given earlier. Another interesting fact, however, is that the name given in The Karate Kid Part II was not his original first name. Miyagi. In The Karate Kid (1984), it is briefly seen on Miyagi’s dog tags attached to the keys to Daniel’s 1948 Ford for his birthday that Miyagi’s first name is Hideo.

I was a little skeptical when I saw that they were making a new series that would take place 30 years after the end of the movie. But as soon as I saw the trailers, I felt like they might be onto something. After watching several episodes, I can say that they nailed it.
Not lame or stupid either. A perfect pairing of seriousness with a few goofs or references to the 80s thrown in here & there. This revival could have been a disaster, but it seems like it has the perfect combination of writers, directors, and actors. It’s funny because as a kid I wanted to punch Johnny in the throat as hard as I could. But as a 40-year-old I’m rooting for him.

He’s lovable. He’s Dexter Morgan, America’s favorite serial killer, who spends his days solving crimes and his nights committing them.. During season 8, Angel Batista was not always played by David Zayas. His son David Zayas Jr.
replaces his father in some shots, as the two bear an uncanny resemblance. Visible throughout the first season, Dexter has a large scar on his left side. Later, in season 2, the scar moved to his right side, leaving his left side unmarked.. Over the years, my eyes adjusted, until the darkness became my world and I couldn’t see..
Main Theme Written by Rolfe Kent Performed by Rolfe Kent. After four episodes, I’m ready to declare this the best show currently on TV, one that could one day rank alongside _The Sopranos_ and the first season of _Twin Peaks_ as a contender for second-best TV show ever (after the incomparable _Buffy the Vampire Slayer_; one of the show’s producers and writers is former Buffy writer Drew Z. Greenberg, and the cast includes Buffy/Angel support Julie Benz). Dexter is a sociopath, someone without human feelings, and therefore has no natural, internal moral compass, and has an insatiable thirst for blood that drives him to kill.
But he had the great grace of being the adopted child of a cop, who (as we see in some brilliant flashbacks) successfully instilled in him a complete moral code that he adheres to on a strictly intellectual level. This is an utterly brilliant concept (one that I assume comes from the novels it’s based on), one that allows the writers to explore the nature of moral behavior and what it means to be human (Dexter is, in a sense, an alien). There’s a primary, apparent plotline that runs the entire season (which involves a cat-and-mouse game between Dexter and a serial killer), and a secondary plotline that involves Dexter’s sister’s police career. The first few episodes feature a very powerful, completed storyline involving one of Dexter’s police colleagues and a local crime lord, while two of the four episodes so far have also featured a standalone story line that ties into (and plays off) ongoing ones.
I saw the future of TV season structuring, and this is it. While the writing isn’t quite up to the brilliance of the best of _House_, it was excellent. The only reason you might not want to watch this utterly brilliant series is the frequent use of highly graphic imagery: there were probably more severed body parts shown in these first four episodes than in the first four episodes of every other TV show on the air combined. If you can stomach that, tune in for a fascinating look at what makes us human — or inhuman.

Claire Beauchamp Randall, a World War II nurse, mysteriously travels back in time to Scotland in 1743. There she meets a dashing Highland warrior and becomes embroiled in an epic rebellion. Moore (creator of the TV series), his team decided to keep the Gaelic words instead of translating them into English.
The idea was suggested by producer David Brown, who said he saw something similar in Skin Deep (1998), an alternative foreign film starring actor and singer Gustavo Goulart. In several episodes, the characters say “Okay.” ; An American term that came into use only in the 19th century. The theme song changes from season to season to reflect what is happening in the story line.
In the first half of season 2 (which takes place in France), some of the lyrics are in French. The second half of Season 2 (mostly about preparing for war) adds a militaristic drum roll to the opening song. The fourth season adds blue fiddle and banjo, and some of the songs are sung with a southern accent, since the season is set mostly in America.

This show has something for everyone and I’m so glad I finally gave it a chance as it has become one of my favorite shows! The only negative thing I have to say about it is that season 6 really wasn’t that good and that came from the fans. I almost had to force myself to watch it and even fast forward some episodes.

It’s hard to describe how good this show is. The acting, writing, directing, cinematography, production, etc.
It’s exactly what you would expect from a Taylor Sheridan show! The acting is some of the best on TV right now.
Kevin Costner, Luke Grimes, Cole Hauser, Kelly Reilly, Kelsey Asbille, Jamie Dutton and pretty much the rest of the cast deserve recognition for the amazing work they do season after season! This is one of the few shows where almost every episode is as good as the next.
